Prayer Requests: December 27

We want to wish you all a (late) Merry Christmas! It has been a busy week here at Micah, with traveling and Christmas.  We pause and take a few moments to share our prayer requests with you:

*Jeremy, Marlon, and most of the Timothy House boys left yesterday for a few days vacation in El Salvador.  They are going to visit Jenna and Israel and spend some time at the beach.  Pray for safe travels for them and that a good time will be had by all.

*As our staff numbers are low these next few days we pray for lots of patience, rest, strength and encouragement.  May we be able to find joy in little moments with the boys.  May we be creative in our plans and finding activities for the boys.

* Yolanda, Arle and Jarvin's mom, has been in the hospital for 2 weeks now.  She had surgery last week on her kidney.  Keep her in your prayers as she recovers and regains her strength.  Hopefully she will be able to leave the hospital soon.

*We are very thankful for all of you who "adopted" one of the Micah boys or friends for Christmas.  We appreciate all the time and effort you spent in choosing presents for them, they were all happy with their presents.  Many of them were sporting their new clothes the next day! Thanks!

*As most of you know we traveled to the north coast of Honduras last week.  We had a great time and loved spending time with our friends the Herbolds.  We praise God for safe travels and that no one was injured in all of the crazy adventures that we participated in.

*Oscar Amaya is home from Wheaton and Jose is home from Costa Rica.  We are thankful that they were able to come home for Christmas and visit for awhile.  We are proud of them and the hard work they are doing in school.

Thank you so much for your outpourings of love, prayers, and support.
We are excited to see what God has in store for us in 2012!

Grace and Peace.

Prayer Requests: December 13

This week we ask you to join us in lifting up the following requests before our Heavenly Father:

*Continue to keep Yolanda in your prayers as she has undergone several tests recently and it was discovered that she has a large tumor on her liver.  She will have surgery this week to remove the tumor.   Pray for guidance and steady hands for the doctors, that all will go well, and that she will recover quickly.

*As we mentioned recently on our photo of the day, Axel and Erick continue to thrive in their rehab program at Free the Oppressed Ministries.  Pray that they will choose to give their hearts and lives completely to God, that He may guide their way.  Pray for strength, motivation, and encouragement for them.  Marvincito has also been there for the past week but will be coming to Micah this weekend to spend Christmas with us.  May God bless the rest of his time there as well as here with us at Micah.

*Daniel Benitez is officially a college graduate, and that means it's time to find a job! He has made a few contacts here and there, pray for discernment and guidance for him.  May his transition into "adult" life at the Timothy House continue to go smoothly.

*John and Becca Bell are traveling to the states this week.  Pray for safe travels for them.  May they be able to rest, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends.

*We are looking forward to the arrivals of Oscar Amaya and the Herbold family this weekend! It has been awhile since Oscar has been home and we are excited to have him with us and to hear all about college at Wheaton.  The Herbolds are great friends and we will be heading to La Ceiba with them on Sunday. Thank God for visitors!

Thanks so very much for your constant love, support, and prayers!!
Grace and Peace to you.

Prayer Requests: December 6

Good morning friends and family of the Micah Project!
We ask that you join us in praying for the following things this week:

*Arle and Jarvin's mom Yolanda was in San Pedro Sula for several months for medical reasons.  She came back to Tegucigalpa this weekend.  Her sugar levels have gone down, but she still is suffering from kidney stones and diabetes.  Pray that doctors can figure out how to heal her quickly.  Also keep their whole family in your prayers as they are dealing with some issues.

*John and Roger worked hard to find jobs for all of the boys.  Many of the boys accepted their jobs and have been working hard even if they don't love the work they are doing.   This is a first job experience for a few of our boys; pray that they would learn the lessons of discipline and hard work through these experiences!

*As we are in the Christmas season things start to get busy and we can get caught up in the materialism of the season.  Pray that we may get everything done that needs to be done and also  not lose focus of the real meaning of Christmas...the coming of the light of Jesus Christ to a dark world!

*We give thanks for friends, family, our health, a safe and secure home, food on the table, clothes to wear, games to play, and the many blessings that God pours out to us daily.  We often take such things for granted; pray that we may remember to give thanks for all that God graciously gives us.

*We are thankful for a great weekend of accomplishments and celebrations- Junior's high school graduation, Daniel's college graduation, and Simon Kafie's birthday party fundraiser.  We are proud of Junior and Daniel and all the hard work and hours of studying they put in to come this far.  We pray for God's guidance as they begin new chapters in life.  Many funds were raised at Simon's party and we are very thankful for that, as well as new friendships and connections that were made.

We are grateful for your outpouring of love, prayers, and support!
Grace and Peace.
