Prayer Requests: October 2

Hello dear friends and family of the Micah Project!

-We come before you this day with hearts heavy for what happened in our neighborhood last night.  As you know from our Facebook post there was a shooting just outside of Micah.  A 15 year old  boy named Erick (not the one who used to live at Micah) was murdered about fifty feet from the front door of the Micah House.  Erick was a boy that we knew for many years who grew up about three doors down from Micah.  Unfortunately, in this last year, he had gotten mixed up with some of the dangerous elements in our neighborhood, and, apparently, he crossed the wrong person.  Most of our boys knew Erick as an acquaintance, and a few are quite upset.  Please pray for the continued safety of the Micah boys and staff.   We have cut down the amount of time the boys can be out on their own after dinner.  Ironically, lately we have been telling them that they must stay on the street in front of the Micah House if they are going to be out between 6 and 8.  That is exactly where the shooting happened.  I have seen SO CLEARLY God's divine protection of the Micah family during these last, violent years in Honduras.  I know that the prayers of the body of Christ are a HUGE part of that!

-This past weekend Juan Carlos Ortiz moved into the Timothy House.  He will be finishing up his high school degree next year.  Pray for him as he transitions into the house and that he may get along well with the other boys.  We are proud of him and his maturity and that he is making steps in the right direction.  May God continue to work in his life and transform him.

-Maycol Meza traveled to the US, Houston specifically, on Monday and will be there for the next month or so.  He will be sharing his life and testimony with various groups of people.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will give him the right words to speak and that his story may be a blessing to others.  May he enjoy his time there and stay safe as well.

- Most of the teachers and staff will be heading to Tela this coming weekend for little vacation and fellowship.  Pray for safe travels there and back and that a good time will be had by all.  May it be a fun time of rest, relaxation, and fellowship among everyone.  We are so thankful for our dedicated teachers and staff that are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty and follow God's will.

Thank you for your continuous prayers and encouragement!
Grace and Peace.
